Happy Mother's Day!

(I've used this before, but I thought it was worth repeating... Have a lovely Mother's Day!)

To all the wonderful, inspiring, selfless, and loving women I know:

". . .Dear women, I say thanks to you. Thank you for being the kind of people you are and doing the things you do. May the blessings of heaven rest upon you. May your prayers be answered and your hopes and dreams become realities. . .May you live with love one for another. May you reach down to lift up those whose burdens are heavy. May you bring light and beauty to the world and particularly into your homes and into the lives of your children. . .
You may never know how much good you accomplish. Someone's life will be blessed by your effort. . . "

Sunday Reflections (It's been too long....)

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven."
~Matthew 5:14–16

Sunday Reflections

"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."
~C. S. Lewis

A glorious Sunday to you~

Sunday Reflections

"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."
Matthew 2:2-3

Sunday Reflections

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, Thee Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 6:9

Sunday Reflections

For the Beauty of the Earth
Folliott S. Pierpoint 1835-1917

For the beauty of the earth,

For the beauty of the skies,

For the love which from our birth

Over and around us lies,

Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

For the beauty of each hour

Of the day and of the night,

Hill and vale, and tree and flower,

Sun and moon and stars of light,

Lord of all, to thee we raise

This our grateful hymn of praise.

For the joy of human love,

Brother, sister, parent, child,

Friends on earth, and friends above,

For all gentle thoughts and mild,

Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

Happy Sunday~

"O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever."

Sunday Reflections

"Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock:
if a man hear my voice,
and open the door,
I will come in to him,
and will sup with him,
and he with me."
~Revelations 3:20

I have always loved this painting. My oldest sister had one on her nightstand. I remember seeing it as far back as being 3 or 4 years old. Back then, I was troubled by the fact that there was no handle on the door and why Jesus had to keep knocking. Why didn't he just go in?

My sister, who knew the history of the painting explained to me that the Lord won't force his way in, we have to let him in.

I didn't understand at that early age, and maybe not until I was much older. Certain paths I decided to take as a teenager and a young adult took me too far to hear Him knock... maybe even ignore it at times.

I never denied that Jesus Christ was my Savior and Redeemer. I have always known that. I suppose I didn't understand the healing and comfort that I could receive by turning around and opening the door.

I am so thankful that the Savior is in my life. I would be lost without that knowledge.

And even if we don't hear Him the first time, he will always be there, patiently knocking.

All we have to do is let Him in.

Have a peaceful and restful Sunday~

"But it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

Sunday Reflections

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
~Matthew 11:28-30

Wishing you a lovely Sunday~

Sunday Reflections

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
~John 14:27

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest."
~Joshua 1:9

I've been feeling a little lost in direction as of late. There are a lot of things up in the air for me and my family, and sometimes I feel a bit afraid of what is in store for us. It's especially hard when I can't see what the future holds or the outcome of the choices we have to make.

I guess, sometimes, I just need to put things in a greater perspective. Sometimes life doesn't go the way we plan. If I put my faith in the Lord, everything will turn out in the end... even if it's not MY plan. When I exercise my faith in Him, I can draw upon that comfort and peace He offers.

May the Lord bless and comfort you and yours!

I hope you have a delightful Sunday!

My Heavenly Father Loves Me
By: Clara W. McMaster, 1904–1997

Whenever I hear the song of a bird

Or look at the blue, blue sky,

Whenever I feel the rain on my face

Or the wind as it rushes by,

Whenever I touch a velvet rose

Or walk by our lilac tree,

I’m glad that I live in this beautiful world

Heav’nly Father created for me.

He gave me my eyes that I might see
The color of butterfly wings.

He gave me my ears that I might hear
The magical sound of things.

He gave me my life, my mind, my heart:
I thank him rev’rently

For all his creations, of which I’m a part.
Yes, I know Heav’nly Father loves me.

"And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good..."
Genesis 1:31

Sunday Reflections---For 9/11

"For as in Adam shall all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
1 Corinthians 15:22

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die..."
John 11:25-26

Finding comfort in the scriptures for those who have gone on before us, and those whose lives were unwillingly taken. I am so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, who made it possible to be reunited to those who have left this Earthly life.

Have a beautiful and happy Sunday~~

Sunday Reflections

(Kolob Canyons, Zion National Park)

Rock of Ages
Text by: Augustus M. Toplady 1740-1872

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From thy wounded side which flowed,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labor of my hands
Can fill all they law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All fro sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and thou alone.

...Rock of Ages cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.

"And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
For who is God, save the LORD? and who is my rock, save our God?
God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect."
~2 Samuel 22:2-3, 32-33

Have a wonderfully Happy Sunday,

Sunday Reflections

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another: as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
~John 3:34-35

How much in this world would be different if we remembered that we are all children of our Heavenly Father? How differently would we treat our fellow man? I hope we can all remember to love and serve all those around us and be examples to others. Through this, may we bring others to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Much Love,
