Cooler Temps and a Halloween Banner

It was quite a cloudy and rainy day here in the valley of the sun.
Good thing, too.
I think we topped out at a whopping 83* today.
Whoo!
It's a welcomed change to the 115*+ summer weather we had this year.

At one point, I got into my car to see this:
Bah!

Thank goodness for cooler temps!
Will it last?
I hope so.

Anyway~ I never feel like fall is here until there is a drop in the temperature.  Today inspired me to take out some of my fall decor and start getting excited for Halloween!

YAY!

Over the past few weeks I had been working on a new banner.  It seems like banners are the only thing I've been posting about (and not even that often). As I've said before, I am trying to get one made for each holiday/season.  So, without further adieu~ here is my Halloween Banner in all it's glory!

Spooooooky!

The paper is from the "Jeepers Creepers" stack I purchased from Hobby Lobby.

I decided to make each pennant a different shape and different pattern of paper.

I distressed the edges of each pennant and pinwheel with a Tim Holtz distressing pad in
"Vintage Photo".

I used my Silhouette to cut out the spider webs and letters.  The font was a free one I
downloaded called "IFC Railroad".

I used a vintage crocheted lace (purchased from SAS Fabrics in Tempe) and grosgrain ribbon at
 the top of each pennant.

I tied it them altogether with black and a sparkly green tulle.

And to finish it all up, I topped them off with these skull cameos I purchased last
year from Michael's.
.Aren't they fun!?!?

What kind of Fall/Halloween stuff have you been working on?

Spring Wreath and A {Belated} St. Patty's Banner

Hey there!

So I have this goal to have at least one wreath and banner for each holiday/season, and I promised myself I'd finish a Spring wreath before Easter this year and lo, I succeeded!

Here it is in all it's glory:
I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

I put 2 larger eggs in the big nest for me and the Hubs, and 3 little eggs in the smaller nest for my 3 Little Monkeys.
I used my Silhouette to make the little pennants and distressed the edges a bit. ♥

Here is what I used:
~Foam wreath form
~Reindeer moss (from Hobby Lobby)
~Nests (also from Hobby Lobby)
~Little eggs (taken from a floral pick)
~Sticks (from my yard)
~Scrapbook paper (from my stash)
~Mod Podge
~Oodles of hot glue

Hooray!

On another note, my friend, Jamie and I attended the Glitter Academy last month and made this copy cat banner that I found on Pinterest.

I, in NO WAY, came up with the design for this banner myself. I am NOT a paper crafter! It is a total copy cat, but the design was so great. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?

So that's what I've been up to lately!

What have you been working on?
